The war in Ukraine is unfolding into a major humanitarian catastrophe. Over one million people have fled the fighting to neighboring countries. The United Nations reported that hundreds of civilians have died, and fears grow the toll could be higher.
For families sheltering in basements and cellars the dangers are mounting. As cities like Kyiv, Kharkiv and Mariupol come under siege, thousands of unexploded items left by bombardments litter roofs, streets, and gardens. Hospitals and shelters are becoming stressed by the mounting humanitarian needs.
HALO is responding to help families in Ukraine and we need your support.
We are reaching families to warn them about the dangers of unexploded bombs and what to avoid. Our teams are helping to shelter civilians and assist hospitals by providing supplies, ambulances, and paramedic support.
We are currently mapping areas that experienced bombardment and are planning to deploy staff to remove the bombs and rockets when conditions allow. Your support will save lives and provide aid when it is needed most.
